mr. madder, just your average garden gnome presents...

uh-oh...no!  Mr. Madder forgets!  blast it all!  he is completely muddled and can't remember this year's botanicals names' or how many botanticals to plant... he has been befuddled by the mean and bedazzling Mr. Zingerlinger Trickster, the garden imp who lives next door!  please help Mr. Madder in this delicate
matter,  it is a real catastrophe you see as Mr. Madder tends Ms. Evangeline Pringles garden, she is the local herbalist without borders -- and if her botanicals are not planted in time -- well, let's just say there will be a lot of sniffles come this winter's thyme!
mr. madder's muddled mind!

mr. madder does have some clues...
mr. madder's word search puzzle was created by ana traina

would like to
thank you for all your hard work in the garden this afternoon with this rare and very sought after
recipe for 'poor author's pudding!'
flavor a quart of new milk by boiling in it, for a few minutes, half a stick of well bruised cinnamon; add a few grains of salt, and three ounces of sugar, and turn the whole into a deep basin; when it is quite cold, stir to it three well-beaten eggs, and strain the mixture into a pie dish. cover the top with slices of bread free from crust and half an inch thick, cut so as to join neatly, and buttered on both sides; bake pudding in a moderate oven for about half an hour.
new milk, one quart, cinnamon, sugar 3oz, salt, eggs 3, buttered bread, bake half an hour.
